National Children’s Mental Health Awareness week is May 1-7, 2016. It's not something anyone wants to think about or even consider in any of their children but it does exist.

Central Counties Services/Child & Adolescent Services will host the inaugural Children’s Mental Health Awareness 5K Fun Run/Walk, 9 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Pepper Creek Trail in Temple, Texas and invites the public to participate and meet service providers from within the 5-county community of Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas and Milam counties who help children with mental health issues.

Whether you're a fitness fan or you have questions about these health issues, this is the place you can find information and camaraderie with others.

There will also be fun activities for children. The fun run/walk and all activities are free for anyone that attends. Free registration forms can be found at centralcountiesservices.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/5K-Flyer.pdf

In attendance will be Miss International 2015 Elise Banks, who also works as a clinical therapist in a private practice and a private school in Houston.

Contact Stefanie Waugh, LPC LPHA, Child/Adolescent Coordinator, Central Counties Services, 254-778-7995 for more information about this event.
