If you've ever felt ignored at any moment in your life, than you can relate to the next Cassette Classic.

When you relate to a song, it could be because of the beat. Maybe you think the artist themselves can do no wrong. Possibly the words touch something inside you.

For me, it was the words of the next Big Q Cassette Classic that hit home with me. It was from a little known group from Australia. Their song went to number one down under, but only peaked at #29 here in America. But in 1983 it was number one on my cassette.

It’s called “What About Me”. I found out later it really was inspired by a little boy being ignored at a counter in a local shop. But the words to the chorus seemed to relate to me as I had just moved to a new town and was suddenly “wallpaper” at my new school.

The song might not have gone all the way up the chart, but it stuck around long enough to make it into the top 100 songs of the year. It even came back into the charts in 1989. The band is known as Moving Pictures. Here is “What About Me”
