For many, Buc-ee Beaver has become a symbol as Texan as the Lone Star and the outline of a longhorn. He's the face of Texas' favorite travel stop, which offers the cleanest bathrooms, most gas pumps, and cheapest ice you can find on the road.

It therefore comes as no surprise that Buc-ee's, Ltd, headquatered in Lake Jackon, would be fiercely protective of its logo and its status as THE Texas travel stop, which is why they've taken the owners of Choke Canyon Travel Center to court over their imaging.

Choke Canyon is based in San Antonio and operates three stores in and around the city. Their logo features an alligator in a yellow circle pointing to the top right.

Buc-ee's alleges the logo is too similar to theirs, and they don't stop there.

Choke Canyon also features huge, clean bathrooms, a staggering amount of gas pumps, and soda stations similar to Buc-ee's.

Buc-ee's apparently learned of Choke Canyon after vendors and customers began calling them with questions about the stores in December, and they quickly filed a lawsuit with a U.S. District Court in Houston late last year.

So, what do you think? Does Buc-ee's have a case? Are the logos too similar, and would you ever mistake a Choke Canyon store for a Buc-ee's?
