Well, this happened fast. Seems like it was just back a couple of months when they had the big press conference announcing the cast of the new Bond film, and bam! here we have the new trailer!I have a long history with Bond, as do most guys my age. Back when I was a kid, the Bond movie popping up on the ABC Sunday night movie was a big deal. Then there was the tape of Bond highlights playing seemingly forever in the t.v. section of the P.X. on Kadena Air Force base on Okinawa, there to demonstrate this amazing new consumer product called the V.C.R. And then, for me, came the big bang, seeing this-

-on the big screen. Bond with all the stops out. A car that turns in a submarine? That'll hook a kid. And the relationship goes all rollercoaster from there. The last stretch of Bonds, with steely eyed Daniel Craig, has been the most solid, grown up stretch of films in the series since Bald McScottish was playing our favorite not very secret agent. So then, anticipation for the next installment is what you'd call...high.

From I can glean from the bits and pieces of info from the trailer, the series is continuing the last film's direction of lifting the cool layer of Bondness and probing at the human backstory underneath. I'm thinking Christoph Waltz pops up as Bond's former guardian/stepfather, maybe as the head of or working with Bond's big bad evil agency nemesis, Spectre. Also there's a great amount of skiing. And Monica Belucci, who is extremely fetching for a fifty-something Bond girl.

The movie opens this November. Here's the trailer.

P.S: I reviewed a Bond film over at Dave's On Film. Check it out HERE!
