The next Big Q Cassette Classic kicked butt...literally.

When I went off to college, besides clothes, the only thing I needed was my stereo. I spent a lot of time discovering music I’d never heard before. They had what was called a “Oldies” channel. This was when I discovered Motown and the like. I went through a lot of 90 minute tapes recording all these “old” songs that were over 20 years old. One song was from a movie, “Billy Jack”. Now I’ve never liked the “liberal” movies. But, you tie in some crazy dude kicking the crap out of everyone, well, O.K., I’ll watch your movie. The scene where Billy Jack kicks the old man on the side of the face is epic.

Now to be honest with you, I don’t get the song, telling me to hate my neighbor, and to cheat a friend. Seemed goofy, but I could whistle to the beat, and I just liked the harmony, and bloody morning after. It made the cassette and that’s all that counts. From 1971, it’s Coven and “One Tin Soldier”
