Hey Der,

Big Q with you. Back from my 3 week vacation up north. I hadn't been back up to Bismarck North Dakota for 12 years. I was told things had changed a lot, and they had, but on of the biggest changes was the replacement of the old Memorial Bridge with the new Liberty Memorial Bridge.

Growing up, that bridge was a hoot going over. It was originally a graded bridge. Meaning you could walk across it and look now through the walk way to the river below. If you had a issue with heights, this bridge was your bête noire.

The new bridge has Spires. It's fancy, and not as scary. Like North Dakota's future.

(For those of you who don't know, North Dakota sacrificed a Buffalo and a Sheep and have now found more oil that the government knows what to do with.)(Ignorant Political rant...The next time someone takes a dump in the middle east and the oil companies claim they need to raise the price of gas, feel free to call B.S. and just point to North Dakota.)

The Bridge has view points on it that represent the branches of the military. Here is the view looking North from the Coast Guard Lookout Post.

All in all, it's a nice bridge. On a weekday afternoon, I was passed by 3 bicycles and 4 walkers, so it's getting good use, but I miss the old bridge. (Nostalgic tear)
