Baseball Infamy
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
As we enter the playoffs with much anticipation here in Texas for our hometown teams, a friend of mine took a moment out of his day to remind me of two notable incidents in the history of baseball promotions that will never be forgotten. Nor should they.
I'm not sure whose idea it was to mix vitriol for disco and America's national pastime - some DJ will take the credit - but the combination proved volatile, explosive, chaotic. If you've never heard of disco demolition night, or never seen any of the footage surrounding the incident in Chicago, you might not believe what you are watching. sports. Wacky ideas such as this don't come around that much anymore. And that's just fine with most folks.
