Jamie Garrett

I began my radio career in 1996 in Oklahoma City, OK. The day after high school graduation in Choctaw, OK I got my first radio job, thus ruining me forever and ensuring I'd never again be a productive member of society. It wasn't a storybook fairytale, as my first assignment was wearing the radio station's mascot costume, suffering through an Oklahoma summer in what I'd describe as a "full-body fur coat". It was at this time that I also began the first of two wonderful freshmen years at the University of Oklahoma. My first on-air gig came at KATT-FM & KYIS-FM. The station was brand new KZ-94, and it would be only 8 months before my 2nd love would call... Texas. I came to Waco doing the afternoon drive show for rock station 102.5 The Bear. After moving on from The Bear and a brief stop in Temple, we moved to Anchorage, AK in 2002 to do a morning show in the great white north. It was fun, it was cold, and after what seemed like a two-year vacation it was back to Central Texas. After spending 6 years working for Eagle 101.7 and KTEM-AM, I was given the opportunity to get my claws into US 105. If there's anything I can ever do for you, whether it's a song, a prayer or a "howdy" to get you through the day, please feel free to email or call me. You're the reason I'm here, and I couldn't be happier to share my life and my stories with you each and every day on US 105.

Father Records the Miracle of His Premature Son’s First Year

Having worked alongside the Children's Miracle Network and seeing the work being done in NICU firsthand, I'm astounded not only be the strength of the babies fighting for their lives, but I'm also in awe of the strength required of the parents.  This video shows both sides in an incredibly emotional way.

Seize This Paint Package From Maaco in Killeen to Cover Up Life’s Mishaps

It's always a learning process when a morning show is put together and tries to get to know each other, respect each other and, hopefully, enjoy each other's company.  It's made a lot tougher when you hit your new morning show partner's car in the parking lot a week before the show starts.

The 50 States through the Eyes of a Gen-Xer (Alabama – California)

Like a snowflake, no two states are alike.  We've seen states grouped by the music they listen to, the food they buy, the celebrities best known from that state and now a list of the best-known invention from each state.  But what about what truly matters... what comes to my mind when I think of a particular state.
