Jamie Garrett

I began my radio career in 1996 in Oklahoma City, OK. The day after high school graduation in Choctaw, OK I got my first radio job, thus ruining me forever and ensuring I'd never again be a productive member of society. It wasn't a storybook fairytale, as my first assignment was wearing the radio station's mascot costume, suffering through an Oklahoma summer in what I'd describe as a "full-body fur coat". It was at this time that I also began the first of two wonderful freshmen years at the University of Oklahoma. My first on-air gig came at KATT-FM & KYIS-FM. The station was brand new KZ-94, and it would be only 8 months before my 2nd love would call... Texas. I came to Waco doing the afternoon drive show for rock station 102.5 The Bear. After moving on from The Bear and a brief stop in Temple, we moved to Anchorage, AK in 2002 to do a morning show in the great white north. It was fun, it was cold, and after what seemed like a two-year vacation it was back to Central Texas. After spending 6 years working for Eagle 101.7 and KTEM-AM, I was given the opportunity to get my claws into US 105. If there's anything I can ever do for you, whether it's a song, a prayer or a "howdy" to get you through the day, please feel free to email or call me. You're the reason I'm here, and I couldn't be happier to share my life and my stories with you each and every day on US 105.
Chances are very good that I walked straight off the back of this stage and just disappeared.

The Exciting 3rd Segment of Jamie Garrett’s 3-Part Story on His Alter-Ego, Shasta McBoogie

The first two segments of Shasta McBoogie's story could be written off as the foolishness of youth.  Why put yourself in those positions?  Why not just stay home to begin with?  Part 3 shows that Shasta's shadow follows me everywhere, even work.

Is It Wrong of Me to Not Want to Be Friends on Facebook With My 12-Year-Old Son?

To be or not to be... friends.  That is the question.  I was briefly Facebook friends with my then-11-year-old son, but after hearing one too many times, "Why did you post that?  Your son is on Facebook", I decided to be what I thought was what a good father would do and I unfriended him.

Jamie Garrett Shares Part 1 of the 3-Part Story of His Alter-Ego, Shasta McBoogie

He's a creature of the night, speaking to you one minute, nowhere to be found the next.  His appearances in public have become more and more infrequent, leading many to believe the creature no longer lived.  On a Monday night not too long ago, the elusive Shasta McBoogie was spotted in public once more.
