Jamie Garrett

I began my radio career in 1996 in Oklahoma City, OK. The day after high school graduation in Choctaw, OK I got my first radio job, thus ruining me forever and ensuring I'd never again be a productive member of society. It wasn't a storybook fairytale, as my first assignment was wearing the radio station's mascot costume, suffering through an Oklahoma summer in what I'd describe as a "full-body fur coat". It was at this time that I also began the first of two wonderful freshmen years at the University of Oklahoma. My first on-air gig came at KATT-FM & KYIS-FM. The station was brand new KZ-94, and it would be only 8 months before my 2nd love would call... Texas. I came to Waco doing the afternoon drive show for rock station 102.5 The Bear. After moving on from The Bear and a brief stop in Temple, we moved to Anchorage, AK in 2002 to do a morning show in the great white north. It was fun, it was cold, and after what seemed like a two-year vacation it was back to Central Texas. After spending 6 years working for Eagle 101.7 and KTEM-AM, I was given the opportunity to get my claws into US 105. If there's anything I can ever do for you, whether it's a song, a prayer or a "howdy" to get you through the day, please feel free to email or call me. You're the reason I'm here, and I couldn't be happier to share my life and my stories with you each and every day on US 105.

Belton High School Football Readies for Second Round Playoff Matchup Against Powerhouse Skyline

The uniforms for Dallas Skyline may be baby blue, but there's nothing small about this powerhouse of a football team.  Dallas Skyline enters Saturday's matchup against Belton at Waco ISD Stadium undefeated, and they've made it look easy.

Temple High School Kicked Off the 2014 Playoffs With a Dominating 58-14 Win Over A&M Consolidated

Temple hadn't won a playoff game since these current Wildcats were in diapers watching from the stands.  If these current 'Cats continue to play on both sides of the ball the way they did Friday night, we won't have to wait long for the next playoff win.

Al Roker Shows Why You Shouldn’t Broadcast 34 Hours Straight With Live Mic Moment in the Bathroom

Poor Al Roker.  He's taken on something he probably shouldn't have.  It's World Records Day, and Al is trying to make it 34 straight hours doing the weather on-air.  Things must be getting a little crazy, because there was an inappropriate live mic moment.

Jamie Garrett is Getting Destroyed on Facebook for Having Christmas Decorations Already Up

It may have been November 9th, but it felt like as good a time as any to decorate for Christmas.  I didn't realize people would take it so personally.  I'm not waging war on Thanksgiving, but if you make me pick sides I'm going with the jolly ol' elf.
