The in-state rivalry is a real concept in Texas. One school's loss is another's gain.

In light of the recent troubles at Baylor, Mond backed out of his commitment to the program on June 1.  Several other players have done the same in light of Art Briles's dismissal.

Auburn thought they had the inside track to get the Florida QB. As it turns out, Mond was QB at Reagan right here in Texas for his first two years of high school.

Mond says in a tweet A&M has everything he needs to succeed. This is welcome news for the school who came in dead last in the SEC recruiting, much to the disappointment of fans.  Fans of course know full well the quarterback troubles at A&M with the departures of Kyler Murray and Kyle Allen.

I'm not gonna say anything about that former quarterback who was in the NFL. As I mentioned, I'm done with that subject.

We hate to see this kind of turmoil at Baylor. Still, congrats to the Aggies for getting a first down, recruitment-wise, when they needed it.
