Did ya'll know this, that Jedi's could not get married without turning to the Dark Side?   But didn't Luke's Dad marry his Mom?  Maybe that is where it all went wrong.

There is a little boy out there who knows the rules better than I, and he is worried. Seven year old Colin Gilpatric wrote to George Lucas, Star Wars creator, because he was concerned about the “no marriage” rule for Jedis.  Colin sent a letter to George Lucas and asked if it could be changed.

Here is the letter:

Colin got a response!  In fact he got a whole package of goodies from LucasFilm and a letter from George himself.  The best part, George fixed it so Colin can get married without going over to the dark side.

Here is what the letter said:

“It sounds like the Force is strong with you, and you are showing great wisdom by asking your question. To be a Jedi is to truly know the value of friendship, of compassion, and of loyalty, and these are values important in a marriage. The Sith think inward, only of themselves. When you find someone that you can connect to in a selfless way, then you are on the path of the light, and the dark side will not take hold of you. With this goodness in your heart, you can be married.

We enclosed a few gifts that we hope you enjoy. Thank you again for writing to us. May the Force Be With You!”

I just became a George Lucas Fan!
