A Robin Williams Movie Changed My Life and Led Me to a Life in Radio… So Thanks for That

Seeing Robin Williams in Good Morning, Vietnam led me to become mesmerized by this wonderful world of radio.  While I don't have the energy or ability behind the microphone that Robin displayed in the movie, I knew I wanted to do it.

Radio has changed quite a bit since the era in which this movie is set.  I, sadly, still see some of the same equipment from the movie being used on my stations, but otherwise it's a whole new ballgame.  Gone is the wacky morning zoo, the over-the-top screaming into the microphone, and the cheesiness.  The desire to entertain above all else stays the same.
