Jeff Healey did without vision what most of us can't & never will do with two working eyes.  He became a successful musician, and with the help of the classic flick Roadhouse got in some acting as well.

Maybe it's because I love that damn movie so much.  Maybe it's because I don't know a single chord on the guitar and he's a pro.  Whatever the reason, I'm a Jeff Healey fan.  He was so fantastic that I'm almost willing to let the fact that he's Canadian slide.

Jeff Healey was so cool even George Harrison and Jeff Lynne sang back-up vocals on Jeff's cover of the Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".  It was during the late 80s that Jeff found the most commercial success, including taking home a Juno for Canadian Entertainer of the Year, ending Bryan Adams' and Rush's dominance (I'm assuming, anyway).

As a matter of face, Jeff Healey was such a badass that he pulled off the mullet, if only because he was blind and couldn't be blamed for going along with those that were supposed to protect him from such atrocities.

After losing his vision at the age of 1 and being adopted by a firefighter, Jeff developed his signature style of playing at a young age and was in a legit band by 15.  Jeff died of complications from multiple forms of cancer at the age of 41 on March 2nd, 2008 at his home in Toronto.
