A man accused of attacking someone with a baseball bat inside a restaurant last month was arrested last week after he was reportedly attacked by a man wielding a gun and a machete.

KWTX reports that the Bell County Grand Jury returned an indictment Wednesday, June 22 charging 28-year-old Peter Daniel Minott with aggravated assault resulting in bodily injury with a deadly weapon.

Police say the attack occurred inside Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, 201 East Central Texas Expressway in Harker Heights, on May 25. Officers responding to a report of a man threatening customers with a machete were told that Minott had struck a 32-year-old man with a baseball bat.

The attack reportedly stemmed from an argument earlier in the day, and the family seated at Cheddar's had agreed to meet at the restaurant to talk it out.

Minott was arrested on Friday, June 16 - a day after police say he and two women were reportedly attacked by a man with a gun and a machete.

KWTX reports that Minott and the women were in a home in the 5200 block of Birmingham Circle when a 32-year-old man kicked in the door and began waving the machete, injuring Minott and one of the women.

Minott is currently free from jail after posting $100,000 bond.

32-year-old Sean Dixon of Killeen was arrested in connection with the June 15 machete incident. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and later released after posting $200,000 bond.
