The Killeen Daily Herald is reporting that the eastbound portion of US 190 in Harker Heights has new 75 Mph speed limit signs replacing the old 65 Mph speed limit.

For the last 18 months, residents in Harker Heights saw the speed limit along the highway reduced to 65 Mph. As of Wednesday, the new speed limit signs were being noticed by motorists.

KDH reports the speed reduction was in place while construction was ongoing between WS Young Drive and FM 2410. Now that the work is complete, the speed limit has been brought back to the normal 75 Mph.

The 75 Mph speed limit kicks in right in front of Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights. This is an area that sees the highway narrow down from 3 lanes into 2. Drive safe, y'all!
