35 Years Ago Sony Sold Us The Walkman

It was 35 years ago that Sony trotted out the first Walkman!  It was a portable cassette player you could not record on, but this was much better!  The Walkman let you listen to YOUR music without disturbing anyone else. 

It cost about 50 dollars and nobody was really impressed.  Until somebody came up with the brilliant idea of letting people on the streets try out the strange music players.  By the end of July everybody wanted one.

Just think, If the Walkman had never been invented we probably wouldn’t have all these other fancy music players.   (Well we probably would, who am I kidding?)
